Hello, we are Carrie and Kenny and we live in Wānaka with our wee boy Rory and twin girls Ivy and Maisie (cue chaotic family photo attempt).

When we left Scotland and Ireland for travelling adventures in 2008, we never expected to fall head over heels in love with this little town, but you can’t choose who you fall in love with, right? Arriving here young and free-spirited in 2011, our intentions weren’t initially focused on the long term, but in early 2017 when we welcomed our son into the world, we knew for sure that this was the place for us to call home — and we’ve been nesting away ever since.

Wānaka is a pretty special place for all sorts of reasons, but the incredible community spirit has always stood out to us. The Village Gift began by working with small businesses and makers around us, and those relationships really shaped what we wanted the business to be.

As the Village has grown, so has the mix of clever people we get to work with — but the idea is still the same: finding brilliant small businesses, celebrating the people behind them, and creating gifts that feel full of personality, care and all the little details that make a difference.
